| The work of the artist Agnes Poitevin-Navarre is concerned with notions of identity, challenging perceptions of cultural, linguistic and racial hybridity. The art practice of this Slade graduate hence investigates the decoding of these issues in a plurality of media. Whilst earlier time-based pieces dealt primarily with themes of silence, breath & exile from the mother tongue, her current work explores and questions racial categorization in more visual terms. |
